I like this coffee maker because it has a charcoal filter in it. It doesn't need to be replaced as often as the instructions say. The filters can be found at Sears too. Good all around.

I am not an avid coffee drinker and prior to purchasing this one, only had an indivifual on-the-go maker. I thought buying a new one (not individual maker)was no big deal. It was because I hate shopping and decided to read the reviews first before buying junk which would need to be replaced quickly. I finally settled on this model - 1100 in Black. It was no easy task to find in black as I believe it is about to be discontinued for a newer version...according the reps at Bed Bath and Beyond. ANYWAY, I love this pot and look forward to using this quality machine every morning. I agree the water opening could be a little larger or designed better. The lid is a little annoying to get off the pot for cleaning....and the water level indicator is not the best to read for sleep-filled eyes in the morning. For the price, you can't beat the 3 yr warranty which was the deciding factor after reading so many reviews. If you are a middle of the road coffee drinker and don't want to invest your life savings or half a days' wages, then this is the maker for you!

We had problems with coffee grounds getting all over the lid and inside where the water goes. Quite a mess and cleaning nightmare. We were asking for a medium grind when buying coffee. It was getting to the point where we were making less than 8 cups to avoid the mess. I called customer support and the person I talked with was very nice and sent us a new basket. Still had the same problem. So, my husband went to a place where he could grind the coffee himself. He goes a couple of notches above medium grind and that is working ok.

I am very happy with my Cuisinart coffeemaker. I was pleasantly surprised as my order was shipped almost immediately after I ordered it. It came very well packaged and the coffeemaker works great. I love the programmable capabilities and the carafe is easy to pour from with no spilling. Great product and very efficient company.

So far this works great. Good tasting coffee and very hot. No leaks, timer works great, easy to fill/clean etc. It does exactly what is it supposed to do and does it well. The cups are very small but I take that into consideration. I think their cup size is 4.5 oz.
