"DC-2200 & DC-2600 Are The Same Garbage!" 2010-10-05

Purchased the dc-2200 machine. Only used on weekends but had it 4 years so 3 yr warr. ran out. Was in my kitchen when it almost caught fire! Called Cuisinart & they sent out the wrong item that they said they would send. They sent me this machine! We went out & bought the grind & brew cuzz we didn't want the same model. They sent me the same model so I called and even spoke with Clint (their superv.) He wouldn't exchange it for the grind & brew cuzz it was slightly more $! Couldn't believe it! I explained everything & he would not send the one that I was told I would be getting. Again, explained it almost burned my house down & you won't stand behind your product! He said "NO"! This company would rather not be out a few extra $ than to go to court on the matter which I fully intend on doing! Being a consumer I WOULD NOT buy from them. I'm so upset over this & sound very angry but feel I have a right to be! If you purchase a coffeemaker from them. I will say some prayers for you & your family so your home is safe...

This is a good coffee-maker. Love the 14 cup capacity. Only problem was the unit that holds the paper somehow wouldn't snap in again after about 1 month. Called service and they sent me a replacement that didn't quite fit...I had to shave off some of the plastic so it would snap into place. Otherwise, it makes a hot cup of coffee and was a good replacement for my old Mr. Coffee and my Bodum electric that fizzled out after about 1 year.

I was pleased to receive our new 14 cup Cuisinart DCC-2600 brew central coffeemaker as it was very attractive. This is our third Cuisinart coffeemaker. The coffeemakers are very attractive and make great coffee. We like the new 14 cup Cuisinart because it is easier to fill with water and you can see how much water has been put in from the outside versus having to look on the inside & back of the coffeemaker. We also like the extra two cup size for company plus we can still make the 1-4 cup if we want.

*The only reason we gave this a four star versus a five star rating was because we keep hearing this click click click sound approximately every 5 minutes or so when coffee pot is on. It almost sounds like an electrical issue but we will wait and see.

This is a fantastic coffee maker. I have previously used a Cuisinart Grind and Brew but did not like to use the grinder due to the mess it made and the time it took to clean. I substituted by purchasing me a separate coffee bean grinder and used the old pot to brew the coffee. It was a 12 cup machine.

What I like about this new 14 cup machine is the ability to set the brew type and the temperature of the plate that keeps the coffee hot. This is a well made machine and I also like being able to look at the side of the machine to determine how much water I poured into it.

All in all there is nothing that I would change about this machine and that is why I give it 5 stars. Good job Cuisinart.

"No Negatives - Dont worry about any negative comments" 2010-09-18

When I buy something I (like you probably) research it to death. I can sometimes obsess over the value of positive and negative comments of others. Granted this particular purchase came with mostly positive reviews to begin with, so I felt mostly comfortable. But there are always a few negative reviews that make you worry... But now that I have put it to use, I can assure you there is no cause for concern. This *is* a fantastic coffee maker worthy of your purchase.

So bottom line:

It really does make fantastic coffee. The "regular/bold" settings are very effective, not requiring any change in the amount of grinds. I was really surprised - I like very bold coffee, and I expected "bold" to be a little weaker than my tastes. But it is great - bold is very bold. My wife prefers the "regular" setting, and it is not watery or weak. The regular setting is stronger than any typical restaurant coffee. Im perfectly satisfied with regular if need be. The construction and materials are great. Everything looks and feels sturdy and well made. The controls and buttons look and feel great (they dont have that cheap plastic feeling). The warmer settings, shower head drip, the 1-4 cup setting, and the self-clean are all well made. The no drip spout is EXCELLENT. It pours fantastic.

Someone mentioned grinds overflowing into the shower head. I made full 14 cup brews with 14 scoops on bold - absolutely no grinds in the shower head, and it was BOLD. Someone else talked about condensation water on the lid leaking when you flip the lid. Maybe on a different model, but not this one - it has a lip that drips it back into the reservoir. I use paper filters for what its worth (Im lazy). The place that you do pour the water into the reservoir is smaller than I would like, but its not an issue. The lid is "snap off" and has no thumb lift, but its a small issue. The coffee maker is worth any small inconvenience those bring.

Highly recommended.

Typical of Cuisinart, the DCC-2600 coffee brewer does a good, consistent job of brewing coffee. The only issue I found with the unit is that when replacing the filter basket into the filter basket holder (with the filter and coffee grounds), it is imperative that you depress the basket all the way down until it actually snaps into place. If someone who is unfamiliar with the system happens to make coffee for you one morning, you may end up with grounds caked on to the water delivery spout which is part of the flip up/down lid. I was fortunate that I cracked the lid and snapped the basket all the way down before coffee grounds spilled over into the reservoir and even worse, the charcoal filter canal. Also, be sure not to exceed the maximum amount of coffee grounds in the basket. The finer the grind, the slower the drip, which will cause issues.

This is our second Cuisinart coffee maker and this one is way better than the last, and the last one was good. This machine has upgraded features that allow you to slow the brewing process for a "Bold" brew. It will certainly make a stout cup of coffee if you are not use to the feature (which I love). The carafe does not dribble water as the last one did. The best improvement over our previous model is how the water is distributed over the grounds. This is a great coffee maker. Buy one now. You are not likely to regret it.

This is my second purchase of this very same coffee maker. My first Cuisinart DCC-2600 14-cub coffee maker lasted three years. That's the longest I've ever had a coffee maker last me. In fact, I'm lucky if I get a full year out of them. My wife and I are avid coffee drinkers and really put our coffee makers to the test. This coffee maker is great. We have absolutely no complaints or negative things to say about it. We are 100% satisfied with this product. It's attractive, easy to clean and offers lots of whistles and bells too!

I bought this to replace a BUNN coffee maker. I think it brews much better tasting coffee. One thing you should know, what Cuisinart defines as a cup is actually half a standard measured cup of coffee. So if you brew a full pot, you'll be able to pour 7 standard cups full of coffee and no more. The 14 number really isn't accurate. This is still an excellent coffee maker.

I have always purchased the Braun 12 cup programmable coffeemaker in the past. It was the only coffeemaker that I felt brewed great hot coffee and kept it hot. I found other coffeemakers had a problem brewing coffee that was hot enough in the past. Braun has since had the brilliant idea of no longer manufacturing a 12 cup coffee maker (DUH!-what a great marketing department!).

I searched online and found mostly great reviews of the Cuisinart DCC-2600 Brew Central 14 cup coffeemaker. I decided to give it a try and I am no longer lamenting not being able to find my Braun. This Cuisinart has exceeded my expectations. The coffee is brewed hot and it will be kept at various temperatures of your choice for up to 4 hours. The taste of the coffee is great and there is also a regular and strong brew setting. I highly recommend this coffeemaker. If I had to find one thing that could be improved, it would be how the coffee pot lid snaps on. You have to get it just in the right place but it does snap on. Thank You Cuisinart and Amazon.

Brews fast, great tasting coffee. No problem filling the reservoir, some have complained about awkward filling. The chimes at the end of the brewing cycle are very quiet, apparently the company's response to complaints about the chimes being too loud. We don't use the timer, so can't comment on that...we assume that it works OK. We use paper filters inside the metal basket, just makes cleanup easier. One big plus; the last several coffeemakers we have owned always overflowed the paper filter, the filter would collapse and grounds would get into the brewed coffee. The Cuisinart fills within a half inch from the top of the filter, but has never overflowed, and the paper filter has never collapsed. The 14 cup capacity is a big plus. My only complaint about this Cuisinart (and every other coffeemaker we have owned) is that the coffee splashes upward against the "shower head" when brewing. This makes cleanup difficult. Just wiping the coffee grounds off the "shower head" forces the grounds and sludge into the water outlet holes, and will eventually clog them. It would be great if that piece unfastened from the coffeemaker and could be rinsed under running water to get it clean. Very happy with the product, and would buy it again.

I like this brewer well enough but the digital clock is hard to read. I don't really need the clock to tell time but to re-set the clock for brew time or reset the clock if the power goes out is a bit of a pain.

I ordered the DCC-2600 from Amazon and received it the next day. After reading all the reviews I was very excited.

Unfortunately, the coffee only brewed to 170 degrees. According to Cuisinart (and for best brewing), it should brew at about 190 degrees. I even measured just brewing a pot of water (no coffee) and it was still only 170.

I have requested a replacement and hopefully it will be hotter.

This coffeemaker is ok but not great. It has options for types of brews, holding time is good - the coffee doesn't get stale within an hour.

The design of the coffeemaker is a problem. Water must be poured into the top of the brewer. The water compartment is located in a side area at the rear hinge of the brewer lid. The brewer lid that covers the water compartment does not open beyond a 90 degree angle, thus pouring water into the water compartment beside the hinge of the lid is not easy. The design is not user-friendly. If I had examined the brewer before I purchased it online, I probably would not have chosen it.

I wanted a 14 cup coffeemaker and this fit the bill. I really like the "reg" vs. "bold" feature. It really does make the coffee stronger when set on bold. the only strange thing is i hear this weird kind of popping type noise after the coffee is brewed and the carafe is sitting in the maker. Not sure what that is. there is a little silver circle that the carafe touches so maybe that is what makes that noise. it's more of an annoyance than anything though. Overall, good buy.

So far I'm very happy with it. Previous Cuisinart owner, this is an upgrade from the 12 cup version DCC-1200. Very user friendly, easy poor Carafe, water gauge on side, uses same water filters as DCC-1200, and makes excellent coffee. We use pre-filtered water to make the coffee, makes a big difference over tap water. The carafe is the same height as the 12-cup version but is larger in diameter, you will notice when filled, it is slightly heavier than the 12 cup (obviously). Comes with Gold Tone Coffee basket filter, a water filter, coffee spoon, few paper basket filters, plus the instruction book, and the usual manufacturer propaganda literature...LOL

My only very "minor" gripes: I miss the on/off toggle switch from the DCC-1200. Not the fastest coffee maker out there, average 10-15 minutes for 10 - 14 cups of coffee. (Bunn coffee makers are much faster, but they make horrible coffee..yuck.) Very short power cord, if you need an extension cord, use one rated same as unit or higher, see instruction book... DCC-1200 had real Stainless Steel exterior, DCC-2600 is faux S/S(plastic)*, *this is the reason I gave 4 not 5 stars..

If you value good coffee, need more than 12-cups, and don't have Donald Trump's wallet, then I recommend this product!!

Ok, I had the DCC-2000...which I loved until it just stopped working one day. I called Cuisinart to explain my problem, and they were very nice about offering to send me a new one...but, it was on backorder. They were willing to send me another model (DCC-2600). I received it within a week. When I opened the package I thought this looks like a nice coffee pot. Had a nice feature of choosing bold or regular. I ran the water through as instructed prior to use, which took forever to finish the cycle! Then decided to try the machine out using the 4 cup. After 30 minutes it had still not brewed the entire 4 cups! I thought this was rediculous. The next morning it worked a little faster when I brewed the 6 cups, but was still slower than my 2000 unit. We had company for the weekend and they could not believe how long it took to brew a pot of coffee! We were still waiting after 40 minutes. So, today I called back Cuisinart and they will have UPS pick-up the DCC-2600 and agreed to send me the DCC-2000 that I originally had. I will have to wait as it is on backorder, but it is much better than the SLOW 2600.

We used the previous model and it made good coffee but had problems with condensation dripping all over etc. With this model all of those problems

have been corrected. This coffee maker makes a much better pot of coffee then the previous one. We also like the option of the 3 heat settings for

the carafe as well as mild and strong settings. The main reason we bought the previous model was for the 14 cup capacity. With all of these improvements

this is the Best coffee maker we have ever had.

I have to say that I was pleased with this unit in most all ways... larger pot than normal, multiple heat settings for the warmer, brews good coffee. The only drawbacks I found were: 1) The feature that supposedly stops the brewing if you want to grab a quick cup does not instantly stop the water drip... so you get water dripping down onto the warmer. It is a mechanical cutoff triggered by the lid, but does not work 100%... not a big deal, since I rarely grab a cup before the unit is finished brewing. 2) The area you pour the water when filling the coffee maker is small and hard to get it all in there if you are right handed... lefties may be better off since it is shaped better to accept a pour from the left side. It is easier to pour into than other Cuisinart models I have used but still a little tight.

I just purchased this coffee maker yesterday. Let me tell you, I love it. It's much nicer than my Mr. Coffee which was a piece of garbage.

I like the way it looks with the other stainless appliances in my kitchen. This set-up is smooth and sophisticated.
