Purchased the dc-2200 machine. Only used on weekends but had it 4 years so 3 yr warr. ran out. Was in my kitchen when it almost caught fire! Called Cuisinart & they sent out the wrong item that they said they would send. They sent me this machine! We went out & bought the grind & brew cuzz we didn't want the same model. They sent me the same model so I called and even spoke with Clint (their superv.) He wouldn't exchange it for the grind & brew cuzz it was slightly more $! Couldn't believe it! I explained everything & he would not send the one that I was told I would be getting. Again, explained it almost burned my house down & you won't stand behind your product! He said "NO"! This company would rather not be out a few extra $ than to go to court on the matter which I fully intend on doing! Being a consumer I WOULD NOT buy from them. I'm so upset over this & sound very angry but feel I have a right to be! If you purchase a coffeemaker from them. I will say some prayers for you & your family so your home is safe...

This is a good coffee-maker. Love the 14 cup capacity. Only problem was the unit that holds the paper somehow wouldn't snap in again after about 1 month. Called service and they sent me a replacement that didn't quite fit...I had to shave off some of the plastic so it would snap into place. Otherwise, it makes a hot cup of coffee and was a good replacement for my old Mr. Coffee and my Bodum electric that fizzled out after about 1 year.

I was pleased to receive our new 14 cup Cuisinart DCC-2600 brew central coffeemaker as it was very attractive. This is our third Cuisinart coffeemaker. The coffeemakers are very attractive and make great coffee. We like the new 14 cup Cuisinart because it is easier to fill with water and you can see how much water has been put in from the outside versus having to look on the inside & back of the coffeemaker. We also like the extra two cup size for company plus we can still make the 1-4 cup if we want.

*The only reason we gave this a four star versus a five star rating was because we keep hearing this click click click sound approximately every 5 minutes or so when coffee pot is on. It almost sounds like an electrical issue but we will wait and see.

This is a fantastic coffee maker. I have previously used a Cuisinart Grind and Brew but did not like to use the grinder due to the mess it made and the time it took to clean. I substituted by purchasing me a separate coffee bean grinder and used the old pot to brew the coffee. It was a 12 cup machine.

What I like about this new 14 cup machine is the ability to set the brew type and the temperature of the plate that keeps the coffee hot. This is a well made machine and I also like being able to look at the side of the machine to determine how much water I poured into it.

All in all there is nothing that I would change about this machine and that is why I give it 5 stars. Good job Cuisinart.

When I buy something I (like you probably) research it to death. I can sometimes obsess over the value of positive and negative comments of others. Granted this particular purchase came with mostly positive reviews to begin with, so I felt mostly comfortable. But there are always a few negative reviews that make you worry... But now that I have put it to use, I can assure you there is no cause for concern. This *is* a fantastic coffee maker worthy of your purchase.

So bottom line:

It really does make fantastic coffee. The "regular/bold" settings are very effective, not requiring any change in the amount of grinds. I was really surprised - I like very bold coffee, and I expected "bold" to be a little weaker than my tastes. But it is great - bold is very bold. My wife prefers the "regular" setting, and it is not watery or weak. The regular setting is stronger than any typical restaurant coffee. Im perfectly satisfied with regular if need be. The construction and materials are great. Everything looks and feels sturdy and well made. The controls and buttons look and feel great (they dont have that cheap plastic feeling). The warmer settings, shower head drip, the 1-4 cup setting, and the self-clean are all well made. The no drip spout is EXCELLENT. It pours fantastic.

Someone mentioned grinds overflowing into the shower head. I made full 14 cup brews with 14 scoops on bold - absolutely no grinds in the shower head, and it was BOLD. Someone else talked about condensation water on the lid leaking when you flip the lid. Maybe on a different model, but not this one - it has a lip that drips it back into the reservoir. I use paper filters for what its worth (Im lazy). The place that you do pour the water into the reservoir is smaller than I would like, but its not an issue. The lid is "snap off" and has no thumb lift, but its a small issue. The coffee maker is worth any small inconvenience those bring.

Highly recommended.

We received this coffee maker as a Christmas gift last year and for the most part I love it. The coffee tastes great thanks to the filter and it stays super hot for a very long time thanks to the hot plate, yet it safelys turn off automatically after a certain amount of time. The one thing I hate about it though is the annoying 5 beeps it makes when it is through brewing (and the 2 beeps it makes during auto-shutoff). Are people really that slow that they can't figure out when its finished brewing without 5 annoying LOUD beeps?? Cuisinart should have had a light indicator to appease people like that. Because when our twin babies are sleeping and we have some precious quiet time in the mornings I don't want a stupid coffee maker waking them up! And the beeps are definitely loud enough to be heard in a closed bedroom that is 15 feet away.

The only other thing that I wish for is being able to brew just a travel mug of coffee as opposed to dirtying up the whole carafe for just one mug's worth. Even if I could find a stainless steel mug that was the right height and could sit on the hot plate without damaging it, it still wouldn't work because of the way the bottom button on the coffee basket has to be engaged by the carafe top to brew properly. For now we just deal with washing the carafe (knowing that eventually it will probably break and we'll have to buy an overpriced carafe replacement). If that happens I'll probably be tempted to go back to a coffee maker that allows you to brew 1 or 2 travel mugs of coffee, even if that means the coffee may not taste quite as good as with this Cuisinart. Convenience is a huge deal to me.

"Good Coffee Maker, But Thank Goodness for Warranty" 2010-10-02

I have owned this coffee maker for 2 years now. In that two years, I have had to clean it quite frequently, as the CLEAN light would always light up. I have been happy with the way it brews the coffee, with frequent cleanings and changing of the water filter. If I didn't clean it, the coffee would taste burnt and I would have to throw it out. I never had any problems with the auto-time, and thankfully never any problems with it dripping from the carafe or during Brew & Pause. After two years, the heating element seemed to have gone kaput, and the coffee always tasted burnt, with massive amounts of steam and whistling noises coming out of the unit. It also began to drip much slower than usual, no matter how many times I cleaned the unit. Thankfully with the 3-year warranty, I was able to take this back to where I bought it (Macy's), and they offered me a replacement for free (CA residents only, per the manual). I will add that I used this coffee maker every day, sometimes twice a day. Maybe I killed it after two years! I am glad I was able to get a replacement, but maybe this one won't need frequent cleanings.

Have always had a Cuisinart Coffee Maker and the last one I had lasted almost 10 years. So my daughter, on the spur of the moment was shopping and found a coffee maker of a different brand. I tried it for several weeks, but the quality was not the same. I replaced this with my still-working Mr. Coffee but needed some features that my Mr. Coffee didn't have. The only two minor problems I have with this one is what another reviewer wrote. I have to pull the machine out from under the cupboard to fill it and I cannot see the water level on the machine so I need to measure the water before pouring it in. I would buy it again though as it does make good hot coffee.

I was excited to get this Cuisinart coffee maker. Alhough I had been a loyal Krups fan for the past ten years, I thought it was time to retire my old one and get something new. As it stands, I'm glad I kept my ten year old Krups.

First, let's talk design. Lacking an exterior water reservoir monitor, there's some guess work involved in knowing how much water you actually have in there, and the water-measuring system within the interior comes off as vague--that is, I can't tell if the water has to reach, or rise above, a certain number in order to equal that number of cups. Also, the lid and the oversized pot itself impede the pouring of water into the reservoir. These things of course are only minor elements.

Next, however, is the taste of the coffee. I've noticed that I have to use considerable more coffee just to get good-tasting coffee--more than I had to use in my other coffee maker. Cuisinart suggests one scoop from the included measuring spoon per 5 oz. cup, but regularly my coffee has tasted bland. And I do not make bland coffee, ever. I've worked as a barista; I know how to make a good pot of coffee.

Finally, my pot constantly overflows, even though the grind I'm using is correct and there should be no reason for the spillage, especially as I'm going through the same process each time, but the overflow doesn't happen with every pot. It's random, and it causes water spillage, and that is hazardous. On top of that, it's a lot of cleanup.

I'm very disappointed in this pot, because it got such good reviews and is, overall, a nice-looking design and has some interesting functionality. It's not entirely a loss for those reasons, but I'd rather have a coffee maker that looks less intriguing and makes better tasting coffee without the defects.

Second one of this model. 1st lasted about a year, no refund, just bought another just like it. Coffee is fantastic - tastes better than any maker I have used. Unit just stops working and I use my Mr. Coffee standby. Next morning, it works! Unfortunately, it finally stopped working all together after 14 months. Simply will not heat water to brew. Bummer. Will not buy another.

Love the way this coffee maker keeps the coffee really hot. You can program the amount of time you want it to stay warm, start times of course. It makes a great pot of coffee - and it looks cool on the counter! Also love that there is no carafe to break/replace. I would give 5 stars except for 2 things - (1) the filter is hard to insert properly and (2) it's difficult to get the water in without some spillage, at least until you get the hang of it. I have not had any trouble with drips or leaks so far... stay tuned to see how it holds up with our very hard water.

This is our second DCC-2000. The first lasted about 3 years before the electronic controls quit working. We like the fact that the coffee doesn't "cook" on the hotplate after it's brewed. We also like the method of dispensing, and the taste of the brew (we use 1 tablespoon per cup, plus one extra per batch...e.g. 9 Tbs for 8 cups). We keep it on the kitchen counter, and it's within reach of the faucet/hose, so filling the container with water is simple.

I notice there are several changes in this (2010) model vs. the 2007 model: different electronic controls layout, different finish (the painted silvery surface is easier to clean than the stainless sheetmetal in 2007), the brewed coffee container formerly had a flapped spout & now it doesn't, and there is an improved method of catching condensation when you open the lid. AND THE PRICE IS ABOUT $30 LOWER!

We'll just have to see if the electronics hold up for longer than 3 years.
